Today is June 6th, 1999 and I must give you the bad news.....

We held a meeting at Tommy B's house this afternoon, and after an hour and a half it became apparent that we would no longer continue on our mutual path together.

Ironically, at this time we are closer than we've ever been to the coveted "major label deal" every musician has dreams of. And the fact is, it was this looming possibilty that forced some unresolved issues to the fore. And sad as it sounds given all the great things we've shown ourselves capable of, the ability to carve out a mutual future and create music together that we are inspired by has slipped out of our hands.

Trust me when I say we have tried our best to overcome these obstacles. However the essential glue of optimism and mutual respect is in short supply now, and without it we are lost.

Why and how this has happened is something each one of us as individuals owes ourselves to examine, so as to help us in our future creative relationships. What is certain is that the 7 musicians known as Greazy Meal have found some big holes in their Mothership, and despite attempts to make repairs, (and even a few to create a module out of spare parts) it was time to eject. We have donned the pressurized suits, and are floating away from the pod, and away from each other.

Perhaps some of us may join forces in future endeavors. Some of us may write music for other artists. Some of us may leave this town for other pastures. Some may leave for other countries and careers. Anything is possible.

What is certain is that Greazy Meal has broken up.

That being said, we are forever grateful to you people who have made playing in Greazy Meal feel so amazing. Your support has consistently inspired us to greater and greater heights. Joy and elation were commonly experienced at the live shows, and you all provided the love juice to make that happen. For this we owe you our deepest grattitude and respect. Thank you for providing us with a lifetime of positive memories.

It is sad is that we won't have another opportunity to share an evening of debauchery with y'all. Lord knows we all know how to throw down together. But given the state of things, there won't be a "goodbye show" or anything like that. So this is goodbye.

It's been a privilege to share so many good times with you all. Thank you again for sharing your love with us. We wish you well, and keep supporting musicians and music like you do. It is essential in this day of cable tv and movies that music continue to grow and be nutured in live settings. Keep watering them flowers y'all. The world needs it......
